Individual Dogs

We only very occasionally list specific Individual Dogs looking for families. These dogs are available for a few reasons: 1) They may be exceptional puppies that we retained for our breeding program, but decided later to place them in their own families. 2) They may also be older puppies/young adults that we just never found the perfect family for when they were young puppies. 3) Occasionally we have a dog that we placed that is returned to us, and in need of a new family. 4) And lastly, they may be “retired” breeding dogs. We normally keep all of our retired breeding dogs… but the exception is when we have a dog that we feel would do great in an individual family (and maybe love the individual attention more than being part or our “pack”).

We are very attached to our dogs and consider them to be family members that we will care for until the very end. However, we realize we have a lot of dogs… and if an exceptional family was interested in an adult dog, sometimes there are dogs that we would consider placing. These dogs are already spayed if they are girls (and can be neutered if they are boys), and typically middle-aged (age 4-7) Pointers that we think would love to be spoiled in a smaller family. All of our dogs are house trained, crate trained, and wonderful with kids. Some are cat friendly (others would rather point them). Some have had hunting training and would love to be your hunting buddy. Pointers typically live to be 11-14 years old, so these dogs still have a lot of life left ahead of them. If you would like to be considered to be matched with one of our adult Pointers, please let us know. We have found that dogs that have lived with us do much better when placed in a family with at least one other dog, so if you are looking for an only dog… our dogs may not be the best match.

At this time, we have two adult dogs available for adoption:

Racecity Penzance Alfred the Great at Birdsboro “Alfie”

  • DOB: 9/11/20
  • Origin: Penzance and Racecity Pointers
  • Color: Liver and White (Genotype bbEe)
  • Health Testing: OFA Elbows Normal, Hips Fair, Cardiac Normal, Eyes Normal, Thyroid Normal
  • Personality: Alfie is a very laid-back boy, and low energy for a sporting dog. He is super sweet and loves children. He walks well on leash, but of course loves to be off leash best of all. He could be an only dog, or in a home with other dogs (any female dogs, and certain male dogs). Alfie has a temperament that would be a great fit for a kid to compete in dog sports with him too (such as Junior Showmanship or agility). Alfie is looking for a family of his own because he has made it apparent that he doesn’t want to live with multiple other intact males. We think he would be a lot happier in a more typical family situation.

“Douglas”

This is a picture of baby Douglas in a play tunnel. He has turned into SUCH a handsome boy, and we will get new pictures up soon.
  • DOB: 3/3/22
  • Origin: Birdsboro Pointers (How to Train Your Dragon Litter – Lachlan x Alfie)
  • Color: Lemon (Genotype bbee)
  • Personality: Douglas is an easy going boy. Our son (age 7 at the time) chose him as his favorite, and gave him his name. It was clear that he was special from the start. There’s a story behind it… but the short of it is that Douglas ended up staying with us as a puppy because he had a health issue, which ended up resolving on it’s own over time. Due to this history, as handsome as he is… he cannot be part of our breeding program. We have been happy to keep him as just a pet and member of the family. But, as he has gotten more mature, he has been pushier with the other male dogs. And we think he would be best in a home of his own. Douglas would love to live in a home with female dogs, and would do well with certain male dogs.
